On February 14 the exhibition of literature “Chuvash Republic: Chronicle of the Century” was opened at the National Library of the Chuvash Republic. The exhibition is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Chuvash Autonomous Region, revealing the rich history of the development and formation of the republic. It was based on materials from the rich collection of the National Library of the Chuvash Republic – more than 1000 books, photographs, newspaper and magazine publications, as well as archival documents and exhibits.

All materials of the exposition are distributed by years – 1920-1929, 1930-1939, 1940-1949, 1950-1959, 1960-1969, 1970-1979, 1980-1989, 1990 -1999, 2000-2009, 2010-2020.  In each section, decade after decade, significant events, achievements of Chuvashia are reflected. Readers will be able to learn how autonomy was born, how the republic survived in the harsh years of World War II and was restored in the post-war period, what changes occurred in it during the years of «perestroika», and how it is developing at the present stage. At the exhibition, readers will be able to turn to the 1st issue of «Suntala», get acquainted with the Decree «About  the Autonomous Chuvash Region», the first Constitution of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, and materials about prominent people who have made a significant contribution to the development of the region.

Another section of the exhibition «Chuvashia on the world map: the brink of cooperation» presented literature about the twin cities of Cheboksary and countries with which cultural, socio-economic relations are established.
