The students of the first set of the additional educational program «Tere tenchi» («The world of embroidery») have successfully finished their education at the National Library of the Chuvash Republic. On the 30th of May a solemn ceremony of awarding certificates to graduates was held.
During their studies, the course students studied the history of Chuvash folk art, Chuvash folk costume, the features of Chuvash embroidery, the technique of performing basic seams and patterns, learned how to make compositions for elements of clothing, jewelry, etc.
The works of the beginning craftswomen were exhibited at the traditional exhibition «Melodies of Chuvash patterns» in the exhibition hall of the National Library.
Galina Solovyeva, head of the department of National Literature and Bibliography, and master of folk arts and crafts, head of the «Asamla tere» club («Magic Embroidery») Nadezhda Kuznetsova wished the graduates of the courses successful creative work. It was noted that in the works it is necessary to follow the rules of traditional folk art, the technique of performing seams, constantly study and turn to literature, get acquainted with the works of experienced craftsmen.
The graduates, in their turn, shared their personal impressions of the classes of the training course, told about their achievements and plans for the development of acquired creative skills. They thanked the head of the club, Nadezhda Kuznetsova and workers of the library for the amazing possibility to study at the library, to master the basics of Chuvash embroidery and touch the Chuvash folk art.
The new set of course will start in September, and the classes in October 2024. Everyone can become a student: both a beginner and a person with embroidery skills. The course of study lasts eight months. Upon completion of the training, each graduate receives a certificate.
